Gemma Railton   B.H.Sc Physiotherapy, HPC, MCSP, AACP

Registered with the Health Professions Council.

Gemma became interested in Physiotherapy when she discovered that the combination of her extreme hypermobility and the military training regime of her determinedly old-school Bulgarian coach was not the ideal preparation for international Gymnastics. Despite the potentially career-threatening injuries that resulted, after 9 months working with a variety of therapy and rehabilitation techniques, she was able to fulfil her childhood dream of representing New Zealand in the 1998 Commonwealth games.

Gemma completed her 4 year degree in Bachelor of Health Sciences in Physiotherapy at Auckland University of Technology in 2003. She has also studied and practised pilates, sports massage, acupuncture, dry needling, and continues to further her physiotherapy knowledge and education.

Since graduating, Gemma has worked at New Zealand's Millennium Institute of Sport and Health, and at a number of Physiotherapy centres, and healthcare clinics in London.

Gemma treats a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. She is passionate about using the breadth of experience and techniques at her disposal to help people recover from injury and achieve their goals for their own body: whether that's through sports or just to live pain-free.

Jon Hawkins   Registered Osteopath, B.Ost

Registered with the General Osteopathic Council.

Jon graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2007 and has since worked in private practice, treating a wide variety of patients with both acute and chronic conditions.

Constantly seeking to broaden his knowledge and skills, Jon's post-graduate education has included cranial osteopathy and positional release, putting a wide variety of techniques at his disposal, from the very gentle to more dynamic manipulations, where joints are released with an audible pop.

Jon has a breadth of experience across a range of musculoskeletal conditions, with a particular interest in treating low back pain and supporting expectant mothers through the postural adaptions of the antenatal period.

Jon is also a highly qualified instructor and lecturer in both Mat and Reformer Pilates, and is passionate about involving Pilates in his treatment programme, in order to help his clients maximise the benefits of their treatment.

Ben Baker   BTEC Dip Sports Injuries, Treatments and Massage MFHT CNHC

Registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

Ben was a keen sportsman and a professional dancer until a major knee injury ended his career prematurely. Unable to find the treatment he needed, he decided to learn how to fix the problem himself, and enrolled with Essentials For Health on a combined Holistic and Sports Massage course. The qualifications he now holds are the highest attainable in the UK.

With his experience in dance and across a wide range of sports, Ben has an in-depth understanding of how the human body works. His knowledge of a wide range of activities and the stresses and strains they put on our bodies enables him to design a personal treatment around your individual needs.

Ben has worked mainly with professional dancers as well as football and rugby players providing massage and assisting with injury prevention and rehabilitation. He uses a wide range of techniques to relieve specific areas of tension and to reduce the risk of injury.

Alongside sports injuries Ben enjoys the challenge of reducing the impact chronic problems have on your everyday life, enabling you to continue enjoying your life to the full.

With his new found knowledge and passion for helping people get back to full fitness, alongside some Pilates classes, Ben is hoping to be able to run a marathon next year - something he was told he would never be able to do.
